Earlier this month we had the pleasure to have been able to help Abercrombie’s Community Kitchen by donating some of our lever lid tins to them.
Abercrombie’s Community Kitchen is a social cafe project providing hospitality training & employment skills for those who have faced mental health problems, along with a welcoming space for community groups & support groups.
Part of Mind, the mental health charity in South Kent, the cafe raises awareness and funding for the mental health projects operating across the south Kent coast.
The kitchen is based in Folkestone, Kent. It is open five days a week for brunch, coffee, & lunch, and provides a space for informal meetings, social groups, peer-led groups, workshops, & cookery classes.
Some of the donated tins were used for creating a display showcasing cookbooks in the cafe in readiness for the cafes grand opening on 16th September.
We don't mind admitting that we never realised just how decorative our lever lid tins could be! I'm sure well be seeing a lot more of them around our offices in the future!
We would like to wish everyone at the kitchen all the best for the future, and if we're ever in the area we'll be sure to pop in for a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
